The fonds consists of three accruals. The first accrual consists of manuscripts of Cecil's books as well as some correspondence. The second accrual is arranged into ten series consisting of: manuscripts; student works; published work; audio recordings; dinner lectures and correspondence; lectures, books, short stories, serials, articles, plays, and their correspondence; celebrity correspondence; book publication correspondence; fan mail correspondence; personal. The third accrual is arranged into the following series: novels, plays, scripts (manuscripts and typescripts); articles, short stories, book reviews, extracts from novels (manuscripts, typescripts, proofs, tear-sheets, offprints and news clippings); speeches, untitled and fragmentary writings, news clippings.The fonds is supplemented by books which have been catalogued for Research Collections.
